Charlotte personal injury lawyer and Crumley Roberts' practice group leader,Dré Fleury explains: “Trucking companies we encounter are focused on minimizing the amount they pay injured victims when their drivers cause wrecks. Over the years we have seen them use different tactics to achieve this end.
For example, I helped a family who lost their father and husband in a wreck with an 18 wheeler, and they originally called me to get legal advice because the insurance adjuster was coming by their house later that afternoon. The adjuster told them that “she just happened to be in their area,” and just wanted “to talk.”
The tragic wreck had just happened, and the adjuster was actually flown out from Phoenix on the first flight to get them to sign release papers. Thankfully we got involved at just the right time, but I often wonder how many other people are tricked by these corporate tactics.”
