Back To School Deals

It’s no secret that the school session is right around the corner. The National Retail Federation estimates that Americans will spend $83.7 billion this back-to-school season. Keeping that in mind, it’s helpful to be aware of some of the Back to School deals:

  • Wal-Mart will match any competitor’s price on school supplies, provided the item is exactly the same and you bring in the sales flyers
  • Office Depot/Office Max– You can use any printable coupons for Office Max at Office Depot. You can also find a variety of deals for under $3.
  • Staples has many discounts and deals for notebooks, glue, pens, crayons, highlighters, etc., ranging from $.01-$2.00. You can also save 15% on school supplies through September with a Back to School Savings Pass
  • Target offers online coupons for many of their school supplies, with available savings up to $280
  • J.C. Penney is offering free haircuts for kids in K-6th grade. Just call in and make an appointment
  • Microsoft is giving away a free 4GB XBOX 260 with a purchase of a new Windows 7 PC. High school or college students just need to show a student ID card or proof of a student email address

There are many other deals available at local and national retail stores. If you’re looking to save this back-to-school season, there are many options to do it!

Also, if you have extra school supplies that you’re looking to get rid of, there are some great organizations that you can lend them to, such as A Child’s Place (www.achildsplace.org/) or Classroom Central (www.classroomcentral.org/).
