Workers Compensation Practice Group Leader / Chief Operations Officer

Mike grew up in Duplin County, North Carolina in a farming and small business family. He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with Bachelor of Arts degrees in History and Political Science. Mike went on to earn his Juris Doctorate from Campbell University School of Law.

Mike is a North Carolina State Bar Board Certified Specialist in Workers’ Compensation. He is admitted to practice law in North Carolina and the United States District Courts for the Middle and Western Districts of North Carolina. In 2012, Mike was elected by his peers as a member of the 2012 Super Lawyers® class of Rising Stars, which recognizes attorneys under 40 who excel in their respective areas of practice. He is also the author of The Workers’ Compensation Playbook, An Employee’s Guide to Understanding Workers’ Compensation in North Carolina.

Mike is married and has two children. In his spare time, Mike enjoys spending time with his family, working in his yard and on his farm, and volunteering at his church.
