“Most of my clients are at vulnerable points in their lives, so it is very satisfying to know that resolving their cases will make real, tangible differences in their lives. I enjoy the collaborative nature of working with my colleagues, whereby everyone has one goal in mind: to get the best possible outcome for the client.”

Peter Burke is fervent about providing personalized legal guidance and counsel to his clients, and with his national practice, he focuses on consumer class-action cases, multi-district tort litigation, ERISA long-term disability, and personal injury.

Peter is passionate about his family lineage from Ireland and travels frequently there to the homeland of his parents, where he owns a home on Galway Bay, a large sea lough on the west coast of Ireland. He is also a dedicated fan of all Boston professional sports teams.

Peter graduated summa cum laude from Washington and Lee University in 1988 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and History. During his undergraduate years, he was a member of Phi Eta Sigma, Phi Beta Kappa and Omicron Delta Epsilon. He then pursued his law degree and graduated from Yale Law School in 1991. While at Yale, he was a member of the Yale Law Journal.

Peter has practiced his entire career in Birmingham, Alabama, and is licensed in Alabama, Tennessee, Texas, and New York. He is proud to be a member of the Birmingham Bar Association, the American Bar Association (Fraud Section), the Alabama State Bar, the State Bar of Texas, and the Alabama Trial Lawyers Association. He is admitted to all district courts in Alabama, the District of Colorado, the Southern District of Illinois, the Southern District of New York, the Western District of Tennessee, the Seventh Judicial Circuit Court, and the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Court.

Since 2014 Peter has been listed in Super Lawyers Alabama and Super Lawyers Southeast in the areas of plaintiff litigation, ERISA, and insurance law. Since 2016 he has been listed in Best Litigation under the practice areas ERISA, mass torts, and class-action litigation. From 2012 until 2017, Peter served on the Board of Directors for Workshop, INC., an organization that works with those who have a range of mental to physical disabilities by helping them prepare for and find employment.
